Race 5 Albany 8.42 Ionyx (11/10)
Plenty of speed but did too much early last time; trialled well since and will be fitter now; gets a low gate and looks sure to run a big race under Chris Nicoll; three wins from six starts over this trip so should be hard to beat.
The Aussie NAP can do no wrong as Joliette won again despite taking a walk in the market out to 9/4. That was a hat-trick of wins for our best bet Down Under and we’ll be looking to land the four-timer on Monday morning. IONYX stands out over this trip and he’s taken to bounce back and return to winning ways for Roy Rogers. Chasing Chaos has been freshened up since finishing fourth at Albany and looks one of the dangers along with stablemate Cold As Cold who made up good ground to finish third when last seen.

Race 5 Narromine 5.35 Shamusu Sho (11/10)
Got too far back when running on for fourth at Tamworth but quickly built on that to win well at Armidale last time and should complete the double here; looks to have turned a corner and being just a 4yo should still have further improvement in the locker.
Jakestar drifted out to 10/3 before winning at Pinjarra on Sunday morning and we’ll be looking to fire in another winner at Narromine to start the week. SHAMUSU SHO is in great nick having finally broke through at Armidale last time and with the promise of more to come should prove too good for these. He is going the right way now and he ticks plenty of boxes coming into this. I think with usual luck in running he wins but at a decent price Snipselva might be a bit of value to hit the frame.
