Slowly away on debut but showed plenty to work on running on well for second at a big price; winner also looks useful so form should work out; only going to improve and this looks winnable so expected to come out on top.
Plenty went wrong on debut for PANNIER DAME but she showed a likeable attitude to stick to the task and come through for second at the line. She’s only going to improve for that initial effort and the extra yardage can play to her strengths here. This isn’t overly strong so it looks a good opportunity to go one better under Luke Cumberland. Ficsmm Dave looks the main danger having raced green on debut hanging under pressure before improving to finish third last time. He doesn’t look straightforward but is a threat here.

Unshipped the jockey and ran loose before finishing last at Beaudesert; won three in a row prior to that so happy to forgive him that run if lining up here; could gain quick compensation; low gate so should adopt positive tactics and try to make all.
If FAIR FELLA lines up here I think he’s the one to beat. He disappointed at Beaudesert but had excuses and if turned out quickly could be tough to hold from a low gate. He is clearly going the right way and should have more in the tank. Magic Trick won well at Toowoomba on penultimate start, coming from a little way back and should emerge as the main danger if bouncing back from a lesser run at Gold Coast last time. Better Be Better is another to note having only had one racecourse start, winning at Gatton last year.
