LET’S KICK OFF OUR FRENCH TIPS WITH A WINNING NAP ON MONDAY!

Longchamp 12.25 Tropbeau (5/4)

Exciting filly who completed a hat-trick of wins last season in Group 2 Shadwell Prix Du Calvados at Deauville in August before finishing third to Millisle in Group 1 Cheveley Park Stakes at Newmarket; sets a high standard and promises to do better yet.

French racing is back on Monday and we have a confident bet for you running in the Prix de La Grotte at Longchamp. TROPBEAU won three in a row last season including a Group 2 before settling for third in the highest company at Newmarket in September. That looked a good race with the second Raffle Prize a very solid yardstick and the winner Millisle potentially very good. She didn’t have much room late on and stayed on well. With further improvement on the cards this season she should get off to a winning start.

Compiegne 4.35 Bipolaire (2/1)

Ran out an impressive winner in Grade 1 Prix La Haye Jousselin Chase at Auteuil in November; third behind El Gringo and Agrapart back over hurdles in a Listed contest when last seen; chance to beat these is clear on paper so sure to go close.

We head over hurdles at Compiegne for our NB in France on Monday and BIPOLAIRE is expected to prove too strong in the Prix Du Cher Lised Hurdle. He is a likeable sort with plenty of ability and was last seen finishing third at Auteuil behind two decent horses. The Stomp looks to be the biggest danger as he is a very consistent sort who goes well here but in terms of class the selection should have too much if fully wound up. I’m expecting the pair to battle this out as the betting is suggesting.
