Race 3 Pakenham 9.30 Midships (1/1)
Second twice from three starts and best run to date last time, going down just a neck at the line; further progress on the cards and this looks a good opportunity for him to make the breakthrough under Daniel Stackhouse.
We head to Pakenham on Thursday morning as we look to get the Aussie NAP back firing and MIDSHIPS should be up to justifying favouritism here. He is a useful type and knocked firmly on the door last time. A similar run should be enough to see these off but he is open to improvement too so rates a confident bet to come good. Starsonic hasn’t been seen since January so if fit will be a threat but most probably will need the run on return. Of the rest Candy Puzzle looks rock solid for a place.

Race 2 Hawkesbury 3.50 Spirit World (11/8)
Smart filly who needed the experience when only fourth on debut at Gosford; stepped forward to finish second at Newcastle last time and with further improvement to come looks to have a good chance of opening her account; most likely winner.
Chased home Perfect Radiance at Newcastle last time and if building on that improved effort SPIRIT WORLD will be extremely hard to beat in Race 2 at Hawkesbury. She looks on the upgrade now so with further gains likely she should open her account. The extra yardage is also a plus. I actually thought she’d be shorter than 11/8 so worth taking the price. Chewie Two is the danger having finished second the last twice at Goulburn. He’s improving too so should run well.
