Race 4 Sandown 5.05 Aidensfield (5/4)
Smart filly who made the perfect start winning at Caulfield on debut earlier this month; picked up well in the soft ground to run them down and with further improvement to come she should be extremely hard to beat here under Daniel Stackhouse.
There was a lot to like about the way AIDENSFIELD won at Caulfield on debut. She beat the right horse in National Choice too and could be a filly to follow going forward. She has just one danger here in my mind and that’s La Mexicana. That filly also made a winning start and will have more to come but I think the favourite is open to greater improvement and the horse she beat on debut stacks up more for me. I expect the pair to finish 1-2 in a race lacking quality past the market principals. Soul Obsession should finish third.

Race 3 Ballarat 5.15 Dance Ready (11/8)
Useful type who hasn’t had much luck lately; raced wide and without cover when second at Cranbourne and had excuses again last time, not beaten far; undoubtedly talented and hopefully gets back on track here.
We had to Ballarat on Sunday for our NB and DANCE READY is ready to make the breakthrough. I’m not quite sure how she hasn’t broken her maiden-tag but nevertheless we’ll be hoping it happens here. She is plenty talented and this looks winnable so she is the most logical choice. Not much has gone right lately and she’ll need a bit of luck in the run but if she gets it expect her to be finishing in front. Sacred Tycoon is unexposed so looms as a danger. Of the rest Bladnoch looks pretty solid for a place.
