Race 7 Belmont 9.32 Code Of Honor (6/4)

Smart colt who was well held in the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Classic at Santa Anita last time but has previously landed back-to-back wins in a Grade 3 here and Grade 1 at Saratoga so looks tough to oppose; should win.

This is a good race but CODE OF HONOR leaps off the page. It’s his first run since November last year but he is expected to have too much class for them and should coast home. He likes to be held up before coming with a late run and should be finishing best under John Velazquez. Endorsed looks the danger as he showed a great attitude to prevail at Oaklawn last month and can still do better. Monongahela makes his first start for Chad Brown so has to be respected also.

Race 10 Churchill Downs 10.50 Edgeway (7/4)

Progressive filly who has won two of her first three; powered home to win a good race at Oaklawn last time and steps up to a Grade 3 now; deserves a crack at this company with the promise of more to come; might try and boss them.

Tactics are intriguing here and if Tyler Baze can bounce EDGEWAY out in front I think he’ll take the race by the scruff of the neck. This filly is improving all the time and might continue her upward curve here. It’s a decent race so there are obviously dangers. Four Graces probably the biggest of them. She has also won two of her first three and looks capable of better. I fancy them to battle it out. Of the rest Ain’t No Elmers needs to bounce back but did look pretty useful prior to that latest disappointment.
