THE US NAP RUNS IN RACE 6 AT SANTA ANITA ON SATURDAY NIGHT!

Race 6 Santa Anita 11.34 Desert Law (4/5)

Romped home to win by over 6 lengths when last at this venue in June last year; ran a big race when second to Cistron in a Grade 1 at Del Mar since; fitness taken on trust but the one to beat if ready to roll; Principe Carlo should set it up for him.

This looks all about the favourite DESERT LAW to me. He is the best horse in the race and bolted up when last at this venue, powering clear in the closing stages. He hasn’t been seen since finishing second in a Grade 2 at Del Mar in July last year so has to prove his wellbeing back off a 10-month break but if all is well he should win. Principe Carlo is likely to go hard off the front and that should only play into the selections hands. Tiger Dad is probably the one I fear most as he has fitness on side running here last month.

Race 4 Gulfstream 6.37 Avenida Manana (6/4)

Progressive filly who has won her last four; seemed to be getting better with racing only ever doing just enough to win but then ran out an impressive winner over track and trip last time; could be even more to come and taken to dominate the opposition again.

We head to Gulfstream on Saturday night for our second best bet of the evening and AVENIDA MANANA looks poised to strike again for Robert Hess and Paco Lopez. She is improving all the time and is looking to make it five straight wins in a row tonight. She likes to push forward and force the pace and to be honest this doesn’t look any tougher than what she’s been facing recently. La Incondicional is probably the main threat. That filly won by four lengths over track and trip last time but this looks tougher.
