Newmarket 1.50 The Racing TV Handicap Stakes

Competitive handicap to kick-off ITV Racing’s coverage on Friday and we are siding with one who we last saw running on ITV in the Silver Hunt Cup at Royal Ascot. PRESIDENTIAL ran well in sixth off today’s mark of 89 and this race looks weaker than Ascot so a run to that form should see him go very close as long as they don’t get too much rain.

Breanski should have the race run to suit and is the biggest danger to the selection but Fighting Temeraire and at a bigger price Glenn Coco are also worth a mention.

Market Rasen 2.05 The Minting Handicap Hurdle Race

Great to have some Jumps action back live on ITV and FAIR MOUNTAIN should go close here for Dan and Harry Skelton. He was far too free at Royal Ascot finishing last but that run would have blown away the cobwebs for this and back over hurdles he can go close for a yard firing in the winners. He finished second in this two years ago and is off the same mark.

Dangers are a plenty and I can see Highly Prized running well for Emma Lavelle. He should still have more to come off a mark of 131 and is likely to be involved in the finish. Dino Velvet is the other one that should be thereabouts as he has won over C&D in the past and can build on his encouraging third at Southwell.

Newmarket 2.25 The Duchess Of Cambridge Stakes (Group 2)

The way DANDALLA blew away the field in the Albany was very impressive and I fully expect her to follow up here. She sets the standard on that and can improve again so is hard to get away from. 7/4 seems fair and I can see her being strong in the betting come post time.

More Beautiful represents Aidan O’Brien and looked exciting on debut but failed to back that up in the Queen Mary and has a bit to prove at the moment. She could go well but at 7/2 she’s hard to warm to and needs to do more. Time Scale is the main danger. She has won two from three and while she needs to improve to mount a challenge she is likely to do so.

Market Rasen 2.40 The Summer Plate Handicap Steeple Chase (Grade 3)

A cracking race coming up next on ITV in the Summer Plate from Market Rasen. BAGS GROOVE looks worth chancing to take the prize. He won four times over fences in his first season chasing including two Grade 2s at Wincanton and Kempton. He failed to fire at Aintree but has had a wind op since and could get back on track now. The only downside about him is his price as he has already been well found in the market around 13/2 now but he has to be the one I’m putting forward.

Lough Derg Spirit makes his debut for Paul Nicholls and is an interesting runner off a mark of 137. Should go well. Potterman is also a danger as he is lightly raced and has bits and pieces of strong form. Last seen behind Vinndication at Ascot and could be a player on return.

Newmarket 3.00 The bet365 Trophy (Heritage Handicap)

It is good to see last years winner King’s Advice line-up to have another crack at this race but carries 5lb more this year and isn’t in the same form. We have picked one at the foot of the weights, CHRISTOPHER WOOD for Paul Nicholls with his daughter Megan taking another 3lb off. He could still be very well in off 88 given he is a 145 rated hurdler and the 3lb rise from his win at Pontefract doesn’t look enough to stop him.

Star Of The East is off the same mark as when last seen finishing second over course and distance so could be the main danger and is a decent price.

Newmarket 3.35 The bet365 Handicap Stakes (Heritage Handicap)

KIPPS is one we really like having followed for his last couple of runs and after two very good efforts in second hopefully today is the day he gets his head in-front. The run at Royal Ascot was a solid bit of form but coming back to 10f should suit. Ryan Moore is booked for the ride and I expect him to go very close again.

Mark Johnson has won 5 of the last 7 runnings of this race and runs three here so keep an eye out for market moves for any of his three runners as they are all currently double figure prices. Enemy is probably the main danger as he chased home Khaloosy last time but I’m not convinced he puts in is all and may find a couple too good again.

Newmarket 4.10 The Tattersalls Falmouth Stakes (Group 1)

An exciting renewal of the Falmouth with some good sorts lining up. TEREBELLUM just got toughed out of it at Royal Ascot by Circus Maximus in the Queen Anne Stakes and this is a great opportunity to win a Group 1. The pair pulled nicely clear and a run to that level would see her take all the beating.

I would give Magic Wand a bit more of a chance had she not ran in the Eclipse Sunday as she has solid form at this level. Nazreef has won five in-a-row but this may be a step too far for the John Gosden filly.
