Perth 6.20 Clever As A Fox (10/11)
Useful hurdler who was very much back on track winning with a bit up his sleeve at Uttoxeter on return from 283 days off the track; up 7lb but looks ahead of the assessor so good chance he can follow up; most likely winner.
With just the 5 horses heading to post for this handicap hurdle CLEVER AS A FOX is expected to prove hard to beat for Dr Richard Newland. He made a successful handicap debut at Uttoxeter over this trip a fortnight ago and a 7lb rise won’t be enough to stop him if he turns up in the same mood. Beeno should make sure this is run at a true gallop which should help the selection. Amalfi Doug returns on a good mark and rates the main danger. Does have a bit to prove though.

Progressive filly who looked in need of the experience on debut running second to Method who has followed up since; improved a ton missing by a head behind Dandalla last time; more to come and should go one better now.
Gutaifan filly FEV ROVER ran a mighty race when second to Dandalla at Newmarket 11 days ago. Another few strides and she would have been victorious. She sets a clear standard on that and can still improve again so she should open her account at the third time of asking here. I was actually quite surprised to see 13/8 on offer as I thought she’d be odds on. I know there are some promising types in here against her but she should have too much. Setarhe may be the one that steps forward enough to chase her home.
