Race 8 Gulfstream 8.50 Sailing Solo (7/4)

Progressive sort who has won both starts since returning; dictated throughout and fended rivals off readily to win fresh and backed that up making all to win by 3 lengths last time; thriving right now and obvious chance of landing the hat-trick.

Despite drifting quite markedly last night Bold Mistress landed our Daily NAP Stateside eventually being backed in again from 3/1 to 15/8. We head into a new week with confidence riding high and SAILING SOLO looks the one to be on as he bids to make it 3 in a row at Gulfstream. He has plenty of early speed and has been hitting the line strong so this slight step up in trip holds no fears. This is tougher on paper but he’s going the right way so I don’t want to oppose. He is looking for career number six and looks a very solid bet. Galleon Mast is held by the selection on that last run so needs to find more from somewhere to make a race of it but could still be the one to chase him home.

Race 8 Saratoga 8.08 Breaking The Rules (2/1)

Lightly raced for his age and comes here chasing a hat-trick of wins after impressing at Belmont and over track and trip most recently; holds Devamani on that piece of form and should confirm that again; likes to track the pace before pouncing late.

Another hat-trick seeker to keep on side Stateside tonight! BREAKING THE RULES is in great nick at present and should have no issue seeing this bunch off. He tucked in behind rivals and settled nicely last time before making relentless headway and asserting in good style near the finish. A similar scenario should play out tonight and he appeals as the most likely winner to me. Devamani couldn’t live with him last time and has his work cutout again tonight. French raider Olympico could emerge as the main danger as he wasn’t beaten far back from 286 days off the track last time and should tighten up for the run. It might even be worth playing the forecast.
