Race 3 Eagle Farm 5.18 Chauffeur (10/11)
Useful type who belatedly got back to winning ways at Doomben last month, winning well; second has since gone in so the form has been franked; fitter again so obvious chance of following up in a winnable race.
Having been slowly away CHAUFFEUR was really disappointing on return at Randwick finishing last but he quickly bounced back winning at Doomben last time and given the second Chico Milagro has won since the form has some substance. He probably should have won more than three times in his career so could start making up for lost time. This looks a good bit of placement and he should be hard to beat under David Vandyke. Fasano won here last time and certainly has to be respected. He has four career wins to his name now and probably has more to come too. Hard to see anything else proving good enough but Shogun Sun is probably best of the rest.

Race 3 Warwick Farm 5.35 Bucharest (6/4)
Unbeaten colt who made it 2-2 earlier this month, keeping on well at the finish to win by less than a length again; this tougher but he is open to plenty of improvement so could take the beating again and looks one to keep on side.
This is a good race but I still think BUCHAREST is the one to beat. He is meeting a much stronger calibre of opposition here so his unbeaten record will be tested but he has the scope to really kick on and could be up to the task. Gemmahra looks the pace angle and the stronger clip she goes the better it will suit the selection I think. Suave is the one I fear most as he has looked promising himself and got back to winning ways last time to make it three wins from six starts – pretty impressive record. Impactful can do better in time and may run better than his odds suggest. Expecting this to throw up plenty of future winners. Difficult to oppose the favourite!
