Fairyhouse 5.25 New Treasure (11/8)

New Approach colt who came on a chunk from his debut run to win well at the Curragh last time back down to 6f; sets a high standard off the back of that and with the promise of more to come should make it two from three.

Looking forward to seeing NEW TREASURE out again today for Jim Bolger. He looked a colt going places when winning the Round Tower Stakes at the Curragh last month and with more to come he will be hard to beat here. He won at 66/1 but there didn’t seem any fluke about his performance. Dense Star impressed at Navan last time and looks the main danger off the back of that. Does have a bit to find on the figures with the favourite though. Dickiedooda is lightly raced and didn’t fire her best bullet in the Dick Poole behind Happy Romance. Probably be involved for a place if bouncing back from that. Hard to see much else proving good enough.

Leicester 3.05 Indian Sounds (11/8)

Progressive sprinter who looked better than ever at Beverley last time, quickening clear to win by 4 lengths at the line; turned out quickly under a penalty but foolish to rule out further improvement and the one to beat again.

Having won three of his last four INDIAN SOUNDS is a strong fancy to go in again for Paul Midgley here. He is turned out quickly under a penalty but put in his best run to date when winning impressively last time. He doesn’t look done improving yet and is one to keep firmly on side for now. Conditions look ideal and he is hard to get away from. North Wind was second to the selection last time and may always be playing second fiddle again. Rose Hip looked good at Ascot but wasn’t at her best behind Tone The Barone last time. If she gets back to her penultimate run then she would be a danger to the selection. Mighty Spirit has proved frustrating and doesn’t have anything in hand from her mark.
