THE AUSSIE NAP (BEST BET) RUNS IN RACE 3 AT EAGLE FARM ON WEDNESDAY MORNING!

Race 3 Eagle Farm 5.18 Golden Mean (11/10)

Promising mare who has won her last two; did well to get there at Ipswich and keep the racing in the stewards room; followed up at Doomben by a nose; improving all the time so good chance of landing the hat-trick.

This trip looks the key to GOLDEN MEAN as she is 4-4 over this distance. She only ever seems to do just enough but that’s exactly what you want in a racehorse and she should go on improving. This doesn’t look any tougher so I fully expect her to complete the hat-trick. Raging Pole has a win and a place effort from five attempts at this trip so not as convincing. Likely make a race of it though and can finish second best. No Doubt Acracker is a consistent mare who should also be thereabouts for a place. Don’t think she’s good enough to beat the favourite though. Hard to see Destiny’s Own or Rothabye being good enough and it’s 14/1 bar those.

Race 5 Belmont 9.15 Fiery Water (13/8)

Still learning his trade after three starts but clearly going the right way winning easily here on penultimate start; given a bit too much to do last time but did finish strongly so the step up in trip is in his favour; big chance.

The extra yardage on offer here can see FIERY WATER back in the winners enclosure. He is going the right way and that was another likeable performance last time even though he only finished fourth. He’s looking to make it two wins from his four starts and is one to keep on side especially in this field. Igarashi did impress last time so shouldn’t be easily dismissed. I have it between the pair with the favourite hard to get away from. Hip Wiggle is prominent in the betting too but she may need the run although she did finish second fresh last time so has to enter calculations. Past those mentioned there’s plenty of dead wood so not much else is worth considering.
