Smart filly who has won her last two in good style; always doing enough to win by a length over 7f here last time; 3-3 on this surface so promise of more to come and hard to beat going back up in trip.

The hat-trick beckons for the improving SOUPAR ESCAPE at Woodbine tonight. She has looked very good lately and this looks easier if anything so it’s no surprise to see her a short price in the market. Summer Sunday and Auntie Katherine are likely to take each other on up front and that should help the selection get a good toe into it before pouncing in the straight. Definitely the most likely winner. Painting is strictly held by the selection finishing second to her the last twice and may well end up chasing her home again tonight. It’s 12/1 bar those mentioned so hard to imagine anything else being good enough to land a blow.

Race 9 Santa Anita 12.43 United (10/11)

Won three of his last four and lost little in defeat when rallying bravely beaten just a head last time; this competitive but clearly the one to beat on recent form and ticks plenty of boxes so hard to oppose.

I thought UNITED was a bit unlucky last time so he could have been coming here with four straight wins. Even so he had Originaire held in third and that colt is the closest in the betting here so it shows how solid a selection he is to confirm those placings. Next Shares has been contesting very good races lately and will find this a bit easier but just looks to be bumping into a couple and isn’t getting any younger. There is a distinct lack of pace on so it wouldn’t surprise me if the favourite pushed forward early before looking to burn them all off under steady fractions. He has plenty of early speed so that may be the best way to go with him. Comfortably the one to beat!
