Race 2 Scone 4.10 Total Recall (4/5)

Good looking chestnut who had won three from four prior to finishing second at Warwick Farm last time where he had excuses beaten just a neck; form looks rock solid and should have too much for these rivals.

Hard to oppose TOTAL RECALL here. He is arguably unlucky not to be coming here having won four of his last five given he was hampered at the start last time before being denied just a neck. He remains open to improvement and appeals as the most likely winner in this field. Hallberg is the closest in the betting and he comes here chasing a hat-trick. Clearly thriving so should chase the selection home. It’s early days with Fine Ruby so he could be one to watch down the line but this sort of test is surely coming too soon? Others to note include True Bell who has won two of her last three and Hard Expectations who makes appeal at a bigger price. The fav should have all angles covered.

Race 9 Benalla 6.40 Zorro’s Dream (5/4)

Useful type who has finished second the last three times but not doing much wrong in defeat and this represents a great opportunity to resume the winning groove; worth keeping safe in this line-up.

We head to Benalla for our second best bet Down Under on Friday and ZORRO’S DREAM is fancied to justify favouritism here for Mitchell Freedman and Billy Egan. He has a wide draw but has the ability to overcome that. Ronniejay is expected to set a good gallop and he has more to give getting the weight drop. Nuclear Cheval missed just a length at Geelong and goes well second-up and has a low draw so looks the danger. Dreams And Schemes is chasing a hat-trick but will find this tougher so while he has to be respected and will probably run well he is passed over on this occasion. Hot Reward needs to bounce back but shouldn’t be entirely ruled out especially at an each way price.
