The Aussie NAP was back to winning ways overnight and it took a nice drift too. It’s another busy night Down Under with racing from Warren, Ararat, Penola, Armidale, Benalla, Sunshine Coast and York. Bring on the winners!

THE AUSSIE NAP (BEST BET) WON OVERNIGHT AND RUNS AT ARMIDALE ON SUNDAY!

Race 5 Armidale 5.00 Beacon (5/4)

Useful type who was back to his best last time when winning at Coonabarabran; form solid over this trip and looks the one they all have to beat in another winnable race; claim sees him in under 60kg which is a big plus.

Not the best racing overnight from Australia but we’ve picked out some decent looking bets so hopefully we can keep this good run of form going. The NAP was back to winning ways last night and we head to Armidale overnight. BEACON is a short price here but I think he only needs to hold his form to come away with the prize here. He is easily the most solid option and that win last time was convincing. Pat’s Nipper is the closest in the betting but he needs to find more from somewhere. Rexx should have every chance from the speed but again just looks to be bumping into one in what we know. Of the rest He’s Our Toy Boy has won two of his last three and shouldn’t be completely ruled out.

Race 4 Warren 3.55 Activation (5/4)

Heavily gambled on debut for this yard but couldn’t get the job done; stepped forward to win head in chest at Dubbo and had to do it the hard way; fitter now and can go on with it so one to keep on side especially in a race like this.

The lack of speed is a slight concern but even so ACTIVATION looks the one to beat. He looks well placed here and I can see the money coming for him again as he appeals as the most likely winner. He should be hitting peak fitness now and I really don’t see a challenger to him. Athena’s Lad is the closest in the betting but I’m not convinced. Universal Thief ran his best race to date last time and can build on that but lacks the class-edge of the favourite. Gisela’s Crown is knocking on the door and probably appeals most at the bigger prices so may be worth a bet to run into a place. Pink Patina would have made life harder for the selection but has been scratched now. Door is wide open!
