NAP – Best selection of the evening

THE NAP (BEST BET) RUNS AT EXETER ON WEDNESDAY AS WE LOOK TO GET BACK ON TRACK!

Exeter 3.10 Sporting John (5/4)

Winning pointer who looked a class animal over hurdles winning his first three starts before failing to fire in the Ballymore behind Envoi Allen; retains potential and is an exciting chasing prospect.

While I respect Fiddlerontheroof I have to be with SPORTING JOHN here. I think a lot of this horse and while things didn’t go to plan at Cheltenham he didn’t look himself and something clearly wasn’t right on the day. He won his only point and should take well to this discipline. If he does he’ll put these to the sword. Fiddlerontheroof was well beaten behind If The Cap Fits on debut over fences and while that wasn’t a bad run the form hasn’t exactly been franked since with the winner being put in his place by Pym on Sunday. He should run well but I think he’s bumping into a smart one here and might always be playing second fiddle.

NB – Second best selection of the day

THE NEXT BEST (SECOND BEST BET) RUNS AT AYR ON WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON!

Ayr 2.20 Marown (11/8)

Unbeaten son of Milan who has looked exciting in three runs to date; overcame inexperience to make a winning start in a bumper before winning both starts over hurdles, by a wide margin last time; promising chase prospect.

We head to Ayr for our second best bet of the day on Wednesday and Nicky Richards MAROWN should extend his winning sequence. He is a perfect 3-3 and looks a useful type to go chasing with. He does have to contend with the drop back in trip but in soft ground I think he’ll cope with it and his attitude should see him home. I expect Elvis Mail to make a race of it though. He did well over hurdles and is a strong travelling sort so if he takes to this discipline I can see him mounting a challenge. Glory And Fortune has always had quite a tall reputation but has never really fulfilled it. He was again strong in the betting last time but let supporters down.
