Thursday’s Best Bets
NAP LANDED AGAIN! It was a 4-timer for our best bet on Wednesday so hopefully we can extend the winning sequence on Thursday. It runs at Newcastle! Also racing from Wincanton, Market Rasen, Thurles and Chelmsford.
Scroll down to find our most confident selections (NAP & NB) PLUS race-by-race picks for every race across all FIVE meetings.
NAP – Best selection of the evening
THE NAP (BEST BET) WON AGAIN YESTERDAY AND IS NOW CHASING A 5-TIMER!
Newcastle 4.20 Legion Of Honour (1/1)
Smart colt who cost 280,000 as a yearling; half-sister to Toofi; a lot of promise to take from his debut run when second to Devious Company at Haydock; sure to improve and looks well placed to get off the mark now.
The NAP drifted to 11/4 yesterday but won again so we head into Thursday on a FIVE-TIMER. LEGION OF HONOUR won’t be much of a price but he looks the most likely winner at Newcastle. That debut second to Devious Company looks really strong form and he should have too much for these. He hasn’t been seen since June so fitness is somewhat taken on trust but he should win this before going onto better things. Colonel Faulkner looks the obvious danger. He also finished second on debut but off the bare face of that form he does need more to trouble the favourite. It looks to be between the pair though with Secret Haunt 13/2 bar the rest. She should step forward but this is a tough race.
NB – Second best selection of the day
THE NEXT BEST (SECOND BEST BET) RUNS AT CHELMSFORD ON THURSDAY NIGHT!
Chelmsford 5.30 Aberama Gold (15/8)
Useful colt who arrives at the top of his game having won at Doncaster before finishing an excellent second to Dakota Gold in a Listed race last time; tackles polytrack for the first time but looks a danger to all if in the same form.
This looks a cracking sprint but the one to beat is clearly ABERAMA GOLD for Keith Dalgleish. This colt put in a career best to win by a neck at 9/1 at Doncaster on penultimate start and then pushed a very good yardstick in Dakota Gold close when beaten less than a length in a Listed race earlier this month. If he turns up in the same form tackling this surface for the first time then he looks to have a massive chance of getting back in the winners enclosure. Nigel Nott is a C&D winner who did too much too soon last time so has to be respected. Poets Dance is consistent and is another one who comes into the reckoning. Granted usual luck in-running the favourite really should win.
Daily Double
The Daily Double consists of both the NAP and NB and is a great way of covering our two best bets of the day to maximise profit. They run at Newcastle and Chelmsford on Thursday.
