NAP – Best selection of the evening
THE NAP (BEST BET) RUNS AT NEWCASTLE ON SATURDAY AFTERNOON!
Newcastle 2.05 Epatante (1/1)
Champion hurdler who has won 5 of her 6 starts over hurdles; still improving and this looks a good starting point for her so should prove hard to beat; will get a good pace to aim at which is another notable positive.
The NAP was disappointing yesterday and we’re better than that so we apologise. Hopefully we can get firmly back on track on Saturday as we head to Newcastle. Reigning Champion Hurdler EPATANTE looks one to keep firmly on side. She was impressive at Cheltenham and could still be getting better. She had a racecourse gallop last week and should be fit enough to do herself justice. She is a classy sort and I expect her to pick these up comfortably. Sceau Royal has been in terrific form since returning winning the Welsh Champion Hurdle and then the Elite Hurdle. He should run his race and be thereabouts but the favourite should still have too much.
NB – Second best selection of the day
THE NEXT BEST (SECOND BEST BET) WON AGAIN YESTERDAY AND RUNS AT NEWBURY ON SATURDAY!
Newbury 2.25 Marie’s Rock (15/8)
Exciting mare who was last seen winning head in chest at Taunton; not seen since off with injury but remains a fascinating prospect and expected to be much better than a handicapper; one to keep firmly on side.
I’m really looking forward to seeing MARIE’S ROCK out for Nicky Henderson. This mare has looked extremely smart to date and I was massively taken with her win at Taunton. Sadly she was injured and hasn’t been seen since but she remains a fine proposition and if all is well following a wind op she should win this before going onto better things. This is no easy task but she looked a classy operator and could just be better than these. Milkwood is the danger as his form stacks up and he is a likeable type. Botox Has beat Allmankind on return and should also have more to come on handicap debut so shouldn’t be far away either.
