Alongside our best bets we have race-by-race bets below the main bets if you want to know what we fancy on the rest of the cards (just scroll right down to the bottom).
NAP – Best selection of the evening
THE AUSSIE NAP (BEST BET) RUNS IN RACE 3 AT MOONEE VALLEY ON FRIDAY MORNING!
Race 3 Moonee Valley 8.30 Dee Keepa (13/8)
Likeable mare who showed a good attitude to record her third career win at Sandown last month; certainly wasn’t stopping at the line so should relish this extra yardage and on recent form looks the one to beat again.
This should be run at a really good clip with both Our Birdsong and Tugga War likely to push forward. DEE KEEPA tracked the speed through last time before proving too strong late on and I can see a similar scenario playing out here. She should enjoy stepping up to a mile for the first time and will look to get carried into this for as long as possible before keeping on best. Glamour Fox could only finish fifth last time but she wasn’t beaten far and just got caught too far back to land a blow. She looks the obvious danger to the selection but she will probably have to concede first run again here so it’s a big ask to overhaul the in-form favourite. Miss Damita can go well fresh and is also considered.
NB – Second best selection of the day
THE AUSSIE NEXT BEST (SECOND BEST BET) WON AGAIN OVERNIGHT AND RUNS AT SCONE ON FRIDAY!
Race 6 Scone 6.10 Daltoro (2/1)
Good looking chestnut who returned with a win at Port Macquarie last month, prevailing by a nose at the line; run down in the final few strides last time when beaten a head; fitter now and open to further improvement so tough to oppose.
In hindsight DALTORO probably kicked for home too soon last time as he was a sitting duck in the final few yards and was duly picked up by Enigami. That was still a very good effort and another performance that suggested he is trending the right way. He will be fitter now and the drop back in trip will suit. Omar likes to go forward and will keep the selection honest. The favourite definitely looks to have the most long-term potential in this field though and connections will be expecting him to make it 2 wins from his last 3 runs. Two Up is back from a four month absence but can go well fresh so is respected. Bit Of A Beauty may emerge as a bigger danger though if fit and ready to fire.
Autralian Daily Double
The Australian Daily Double consists of both the NAP and NB and is a great way of covering our two best bets of the night to maximise profit. They run at Scone and Moonee Valley in the early hours of Friday morning.
