Race 1 Eagle Farm 3.37 The Ritz (10/11)
Smart type who justified strong support to make a winning debut at Ballina last month before following up in good style at Gold Coast last time; open to further improvement and obvious chance of remaining unbeaten here.
We head to Eagle Farm tonight for our best bet Down Under and THE RITZ looks a good bet to make it 3-3. He hasn’t put a foot wrong yet and I was impressed with how he did it last time. This looks a good bit of placement and he can win this before going onto better things in time. Brigalow Boy is the obvious danger as he has two wins and two runner-up efforts to date from just four runs and can keep progressing as he gains experience. Looks to be bumping into a smart sort here though. Cosmic Gossip has had a few excuses but her form doesn’t quite look up to the task here so she’ll need the market principals to run flat to have a chance. Same applies to Queen Dazzler and Nicks.

THE AUSSIE NEXT BEST (SECOND BEST BET) RUNS IN RACE 3 AT CAULFIELD ON WEDNESDAY!
Race 3 Caulfield 5.50 Winsum (11/8)
Likeable colt who is improving with racing; looked to need the experience when down the field on debut but stepped forward nicely to win at Cranbourne last month; drawn to take advantage and should win.
Given WINSUM was thrown into a Group 3 on debut that probably shows the expectations connections have of this promising colt. It was no surprise to see him leave that effort behind when winning his maiden comfortably and he can take another big step forward now. He is well drawn and should prove a cut above these if it goes to plan. Impecunious is very promising herself and she looks the one to give the selection a race. She won really nicely at Riccarton Park and that puts her right in the mix. Platini can do better too but just looks to be bumping into a couple here. Same probably applied to Confidant and I don’t think any of the others are good enough and that includes Use Your Voice.
