THE AUSSIE NAP (BEST BET) RUNS IN RACE 1 AT PORT MACQUARIE ON FRIDAY MORNING!
Race 1 Port Macquarie 2.15 Impulse Control (10/11)
Promising filly; tough conditions on debut sticking to the task; sure to do better now and should be improvement to come in the first-time cheekpieces; good draw and looks the one to beat in this field.
There was plenty of encouragement to take from the debut of IMPULSE CONTROL at Scone and with improvement a distinct possibility she should have the class to take this out. A lot of her rivals look exposed in comparison so it’s no surprise to see her a short price despite only finishing fifth on debut. Tariff Trump is probably the main danger as the market is suggesting. She wasn’t beaten far last time and a similar effort would see her bang there. She hasn’t won after 15 attempts though so is surely vulnerable for win purposes? Of the rest Glendor hasn’t been running too badly and should also be on the premises. If the fav steps forward she should open her account at just the second attempt.

THE AUSSIE NEXT BEST (SECOND BEST BET) RUNS IN RACE 8 AT SUNSHINE COAST ON FRIDAY!
Race 8 Sunshine Coast 11.23 Doomani (6/4)
Improving filly who was slowly away on debut and looked in need of the experience when down the field here in November last year; much better effort when third here last time; hard to stop with more to come.
Hard to look past DOOMANI here for Sean Cormack and Paul Jenkins. This filly stepped forward to finish third last time and with further gains likely on just her third start she can make the breakthrough. Her experience should count for plenty here and she is a strong fancy to take this out. If You Can Dream is by So You Think so has to be feared. She could only finish fifth in a Doomben trial last month so might just need this outing. No surprise if she does give the favourite a race though. Somnia began awkwardly when only fifth at Ipswich last time. If she gets away on terms she is definitely capable of running into a place as there is surely more to come? Nothing else really makes appeal.
