Race 2 Golden Gate Fields 9.18 Stalking Shadow (5/4)

Promising colt who improved to win convincingly over track and trip earlier this month; open to further improvement and looks well placed to follow up; hopefully Bobby’s Alibi goes hard up front to set it up for him.

The winners just keep on coming Stateside as we recorded yet more profit last night. We have now added +53 points in the last 5 days and are up to +140 now for January. Not bad going right? We head to Golden Gate for our best bet on Friday night and last time out winner STALKING SHADOW can go in again. This colt is making great strides and impressed last time. These conditions clearly suit him well and he has the most potential in the field for me. Bobby’s Alibi will take some catching but if he judges it right he should reel him in close home. Governor’s Party is lightly raced and should have more to come so it wouldn’t surprise me if he managed to outrun his price-tag.

Race 6 Gulfstream 8.09 Gitana (6/4)

Likeable filly who got her head in front at Gulfstream Park West in October last year; held her form well since finishing second on both starts and bumped into a good yardstick in Bird Map last time; capable of better yet and big chance here.

We head to Gulfstream for our second best bet of the night Stateside and GITANA can return to winning ways. She has been running to a consistent level in defeat and can go one better here with her recent form the best on offer. She was second to Bird Map last time and that horse looks to have a bright future so that form should work out. She is the obvious pace angle in the race so should kick forward and take the catching. Sweetsweetsweet is the only other front runner in here so it wouldn’t surprise me if they were always 1-2 here. Classy Beast was behind the latter last time and looks held. Hold The Applause tackles dirt for the first time but has enough to prove at present.
