Race 4 Goulburn 4.40 Mirror Model (11/8)

Promising filly who rounded off last campaign making the breakthrough at Nowra winning convincingly; not see for five months but should be lots more to come and looks the one they all have to beat having trialled for this.

The Aussie NAP landed overnight so we head into Sunday morning with confidence riding high. MIRROR MODEL looks hard to oppose on her return. She hasn’t been seen for five months but has trialled twice for this so shouldn’t lack fitness. She looked a filly improving with her racing when getting her head in front on final start at Nowra and can take another step forward here and follow up. All That Sass will find this easier and has a good draw so has to be respected in opposition. Reelclass won over track and trip last time and also looks capable of running well. Possibly just preferred as the main danger to the selection. Red Hot has just 1 win from 18 starts and needs more to trouble the fav.

Race 2 Ascot 6.18 Vicinity (7/4)

Good looking chestnut filly who is yet to make the breakthrough but has several good efforts to her name including last time when she was beaten just over a length at Bunbury; can do better and this looks a good opportunity.

I know she is yet to make the breakthrough but I don’t think VICINITY will get many better opportunities than this and she has to get the vote. She beat them all bar American Queen at Bunbury and if she matches that here she will go close. She has a low draw with a claim and looks hard to beat. Guarded faded badly last time but can bounce back and looks one of the main dangers to the selection. Sioux City failed to fire back from 10 months off last time but should step forward physically. Northern Chill might be a bit of value to run into a place as he has only had 3 runs so is unexposed compared to a lot of these which shouldn’t be overlooked. Needs to improve but should do.
