NAP – Best selection of the evening

THE NAP (BEST BET) WON AGAIN YESTERDAY AND IS NOW CHASING A HAT-TRICK!

Wolverhampton 7.15 Tone The Barone (15/8)

Progressive sprinter who has won 6 of his last 8; showed a cracking attitude on return to get up and win by a nose at Chelmsford; tries tapeta for the first time now but hard to oppose if proving as effective on it.

The NAP won again yesterday so we’re now chasing a HAT-TRICK on Saturday. We head under the lights at Wolverhampton and TONE THE BARONE looks to have a major chance of going in again. He made relentless headway in the closing stages to somehow get up and win by a nose from Rovaniemi. That was a huge run given the circumstances and he should tighten up from that given it was his first run for 139 days. He has won 6 of his last 8 now and as long as he takes to this surface he should run a big race. Lord Riddiford looks the one to take them along and the selection will need a bit of luck coming through but he should go through the gears and pick these up. Venturous looks to be the danger.

NB – Second best selection of the day

THE NEXT BEST (SECOND BEST BET) RUNS AT LINGFIELD ON SATURDAY AFTERNOON!

Lingfield 2.35 Crackling (15/8)

Lightly raced sort who is improving all the time; took a step forward again when denied a head on first crack at this trip at Southwell last month; switch back to this surface will suit and should prove hard to beat.

With the field well strung out at Southwell there’s no reason to doubt that form and given the winner Daafr has run well twice since CRACKLING should be hard to beat here. That was just his third run and on the figures it was his best. He was denied just a head so with further improvement to come back at this track he can get the better of these. Accomplice impressed last time but I think she needs a strong pace to be seen to best effect and this could prove tactical given there is no clear leader. She has won 2 of her last 3 and is feared but is up another 3lb and things just might not work out on this occasion. Noble Peace and Apex King are both respected but the selection is unexposed in comparison.
