THE AUSSIE NAP (BEST BET) RUNS IN RACE 1 AT EMERALD ON TUESDAY MORNING!

Race 1 Emerald 4.12 Ziedrich (11/10)

Caught the eye running a bit race in third at Mackay back from 18 months off the track, beaten less than two lengths; sure to strip fitter now and scope to improve so looks one to keep on side in a race like this.

I’m expecting ZIEDRICH to be fast away here and he might always be dominating. He will be a lot fitter now and steps up slightly in trip which can also help. He should push forward and might take a bit of pegging back with further progress on the cards. Famus Fella is a good looking sort and he has shaped with ability on just three runs to date. He was well held last time but should step forward from that and looks the biggest danger. Max’s Source has failed to land a blow in three runs to date but should step forward at some stage. This looks a bit out of reach though so he’s passed over again. Cat Two also needs more on what we’ve seen but again she will be improved physically.

Race 1 Bendigo 2.30 Frostin’ (11/8)

Improving colt who was well backed on debut but just raced too keenly to finish second, bumping into Enthaar; raced on the speed last time and was beaten into second; can improve again and with the blinkers should go close.

It’s hard to look past FROSTIN’ here if he improves again. On what we’ve seen he has by far and away the strongest claims in this field and he should take a lot of beating. Grinzinger Prince has conditions in favour now but he is going to need to improve a lot on what we’ve seen in two runs to date. Back from a break so should do better this campaign. Wine From Tears went off a big price on debut so wasn’t disgraced in fifth and can do better if she improves. This isn’t a strong race so it wouldn’t be the biggest shock if she ran into a place. Red Hot Nicc is making his debut but isn’t badly bred so I wouldn’t want to see too much money for him in the lead up to the race.
