NAP – Best selection of the evening
THE NAP (BEST BET) WON YESTERDAY AND RUNS AT KELSO ON SATURDAY AFTERNOON!
Kelso 1.30 My Drogo (2/1)
Good looking sort who created a big impression in a Grade 2 at Ascot last time, slamming a good field in the process; subsequent Betfair Hurdle winner Soaring Glory back in third; improving fast and extra distance firmly in his favour.
The NAP was back to winning ways on Friday as Fantastic Lady won well at Doncaster to give Nicky Henderson a 1-2. We head to Kelso on Saturday afternoon for our best bet and MY DROGO looks a horse to keep on side. He ran out an impressive winner at Ascot last time and was notably strong at the line. It’s no surprise to see him go up in trip and with further improvement to come he should have too much for these. He’s a big horse who should keep filling out into his frame and his best days are almost certainly ahead. This is a good race but I think he’ll win it before going onto better things. Bareback Jack is unbeaten and looks the danger. He will also enjoy going up in trip but does need more.
NB – Second best selection of the day
THE NEXT BEST (SECOND BEST BET) RUNS AT DONCASTER ON SATURDAY!
Doncaster 3.30 Canelo (2/1)
Likeable type who has impressed this season improving in handicap chases to win a novice event at Aintree and then the Rowland Meyrick at Wetherby; far from disgraced last time; hard to beat if running to his mark.
This looks all about CANELO to me and if he runs his race he should have enough to see these off. His win in the Rowland Meyrick was very solid and with the majority of this field having questions to answer he makes plenty of appeal as the most likely winner. Beware The Bear got stuck in the mud at Ascot behind Mister Malarky but is better than that. The ground should suit him here but he isn’t getting any younger and while he’s a danger I think it’s going to take a big performance for him to win this. Chef D’oeuvre may be the one to chase the favourite home. He’s had a wind op and might be well handicapped back over fences so is worth some consideration. Just A Sting has enough to prove at present.
