THE US NAP (BEST BET) RUNS IN RACE 5 AT WILL ROGERS ON MONDAY NIGHT!

Race 5 Will Rogers Downs 8.52 Dramacide (1/1)

Useful type who returned with a convincing win over the extended 5f here last month; good effort up to this trip last time and if he builds on that again he should be winning this; one to keep on side.

This looks another good opportunity for DRAMACIDE to get in the winners enclosure. He made a winning return here over shorter and backed that up with a very good second last time. With the possibility of more to come being just a 4yo he gets a confident vote to make it 2 from his last 3. Captain Comeback made the breakthrough emphatically over track and trip last time and has to be respected off the back of that but he is bumping into a decent rival now in the fav and that is likely to test his credentials. Looks the most likely danger though. Kay’s Gray was a good second last time and should be fitter again so he is probably best of the rest along with Hay Hay My My but vulnerable for win purposes.

Race 6 Thistledown 8.20 Vertrazzo (6/5)

Talented mare who won going away over 6f here when last seen; she should win this comfortably if fit enough on return from 334 days off the track; potential to rate better yet so obvious chance.

Fitness is obviously taken on trust but if VERTRAZZO is anywhere near her best she should have too much class for these rivals. We know she goes well fresh so I’m expecting her to have too much for them. She won going away last time in this grade and it was an impressive display of speed and stamina. Moonlight Mission is lightly raced for her age and she was in good form when last seen but she often needs the first run back so might not be as sharp as the selection and could always be playing second fiddle. Command Strike is a filly with a future and she has won 4 of her first 5 starts but I see her as a more longer term project and she’s bumping into some very good horses here.
