NAP – Best selection of the evening
THE NAP (BEST BET) RUNS AT YORK ON FRIDAY AFTERNOON!
York 3.15 Jilly Cooper (7/4)
Promising filly who ran an eye-catching race when third on debut at Beverley; quickly improved on that to win at Hamilton last month, doing it easily close home; more to come and looks hard to oppose despite a penalty.
No joy for the NAP on Thursday so hopefully we can get back on track at York on Friday. JILLY COOPER impressed winning at Hamilton and with more to come this filly can make it 2 wins from her first 3 starts. She only had to be pushed out to win by 3 lengths and I think she has lots of potential. War Command colt Bond Power is the obvious danger as he ran well when third to Bosh here last month and like the selection is improving with experience. Night Of Thunder filly Eternal Halo shaped well on debut and is another to consider but I think she might just need a bit more time. The fav could be a smart filly in the making so I expect her to take care of these. Could be a race that works out well.
NB – Second best selection of the day
THE NEXT BEST (SECOND BEST BET) RUNS AT ASCOT ON FRIDAY AFTERNOON!
Ascot 2.50 Garden Paradise (9/4)
Looked to come into her own up to this trip for the first time winning gamely at Newbury last month and the field was well strung out in behind; up 4lb but more to come and I think she’s going to take a lot of beating here.
We head to Ascot on Friday for our second best bet and GARDEN PARADISE looks good value to follow up. She knuckled down bravely to prevail in a tight finish last time and up just 4lb I think she can win this with further improvement to come. The front four came clear from the rest as well so I think it was a good race. Gwenhwyvar was turned out at short odds here in May and finished second last in the Ribblesdale last time. She obviously needs to bounce back but her form before those disappointments was promising so she is the threat to the fav if rediscovering some form. Percy’s Pride won well at Chelmsford last time and also has to be respected but this is tougher for sure.
