THE AUSSIE NAP (BEST BET) WON OVERNIGHT AND RUNS AT CASTERTON ON MONDAY!
Race 8 Casterton 7.30 Irish Rockstar (11/8)
Improving sort who had excuses when disappointing at Ballarat last time; likely to push forward and dictate and could have these in trouble a fair way out; worth chancing to bounce back in a winnable race.
The Aussie NAP was back in the winners enclosure overnight and hopefully we can get a run of winners together this week. We head to Casterton and IRISH ROCKSTAR should prove hard to beat. He was only actually beaten 6 lengths at Ballarat and with the drop back in trip and a big claim he can dictate and could be away and gone. Wild Colonial Boy was disappointing last time but his overall profile is pretty good so if back on song he will give the fav most to think about. Sacred Kiwi won at Echuca last time and that was a good effort but on overall form he is going to need to find more to trouble the selection. It’s 9/1 bar those and hard to see anything at bigger prices landing a blow.

Race 4 Narromine 5.40 Mad As Zariz (15/8)
Likeable type who has won 2 of his last 3 and impressed at Wagga last time asserting at the finish; 2 from 4 over this trip and this track should suit to lots to like as he looks to add another win to his CV.
With 5 wins and 11 placings from 28 starts MAD AS ZARIZ looks the most likely winner of this. He relished a heavy surface last time and his form stacks up so I think he’ll serve it up to these. Redemption Road is drawn for a good run but he has been a little frustrating especially recently. Running well enough to have a say though so is respected. Wild Rocket wasn’t beaten far at Dubbo so also has to enter calculations but she’ll need to dig deep to trouble the selection. Reward Seeker is 6 wins from 15 starts and came from well off the pace to score at Wellington last time so might be the value to hit the frame. The rest just don’t look good enough given the form the principals are in.
