THE US NAP (BEST BET) WON AGAIN LAST NIGHT AND RUNS AT WOODBINE TONIGHT!

Race 8 Woodbine 9.46 One Timer (6/5)

Promising type who created a big impression on debut winning by 12 widening lengths; sure to improve from that initial effort and if he does he should have too much for these rivals; one to keep firmly on side today and going forward.

I think trainer Larry Rivelli could have a smart one on his hands in the shape of ONE TIMER here. This 2yo justified strong support to make a winning start and really kicked away from his rivals in the closing stages to win by a wide margin. The form of that has already been well advertised with the fourth American Sanctuary (who was thrashed 18 and a half lengths) winning his next start at Prairie Meadows. This is obviously a big step up but he is open to any amount of improvement and I think he is one to keep on the right side of here and when he is targeted at bigger prizes. Mowins impressed on dirt last time and looks the danger to the selection with more to come.

Race 3 Del Mar 11.02 Lookout Point (6/5)

Big strong colt who made a bright start finishing second on debut, having made up good ground from off the pace; likely to know a lot more now which will help him travel better; clearly the one to beat so leading claims.

I thought LOOKOUT POINT looked a bit raw on debut travelling quite strongly initially before coming on and off the bridle and then staying on strongly in the straight. The winner Miss Bellatrix looks pretty useful so I think it was a big run with the penny dropping late. He is sure to be more streetwise now and if he improves this looks a good opportunity for him to go one better. Il Capitano was third in that race and that was a good run but he has his work cutout to try and turn the tables with the selection. They could easily finish the 1-2 here. Mackinnon is gradually improving too so is also worth a second look but definitely needs more to trouble the market principals.
