THE US NAP (BEST BET) WON LAST NIGHT AND RUNS AT DEL MAR OVERNIGHT!

Race 9 Del Mar 2.20 Medina Spirit (6/4)

Promising colt who ran out an impressive winner of the Kentucky Derby responding well to pressure and always finding enough; things didn’t work out in the Preakness last time but better than that; looks the one to beat in this field.

The US NAP landed last night and hopefully it’s worth the wait again on Sunday/ Monday morning as we head to Del Mar. MEDINA SPIRIT is a colt going places and I know he was a bit disappointing last time in the Preakness but his Kentucky Derby win was convincing and if he bounces back I think he’ll reverse that past form with Rock Your World. The latter completely blew out in the Belmont Stakes beaten 22 lengths last time and has more to prove than the selection. He is obviously the threat if bouncing back and it should be a good race but I think the selection has the greater potential going forward. Stilleto Boy was progressing nicely prior to running a bit flat last time and looks best of the rest.

Likeable filly who has won 3 of her last 5 and 2 of her last 3; found plenty off the bridle to prevail gamely last time and with more to come she can win again; plenty of pace on so should get a good target to aim at; one to keep on side.

The US NB was narrowly denied last night so hopefully we can get back on track this evening as we head to Gulfstream for our second best bet Stateside. CHOOSE JOY is improving all the time on turf and I think this represents another good opportunity for her to win. She is looking to make it 3 from her last 4 and given she is proven at this level I don’t see anything in here good enough to stop her. Cat’s Astray gave her a real fright last time and could emerge as the danger again but she isn’t improving aged 7 so if the selection runs to the same level and has potential for better that should be sufficient. I Am The Boss is unexposed but was behind that pair last time so has enough to find.
