THE US NAP (BEST BET) RUNS IN RACE 8 AT BELTERRA PARK ON THURSDAY NIGHT!

Race 8 Belterra Park 9.05 Pao De Queijo (6/4)

Progressive filly who looked very good winning head in chest over track and trip on penultimate start; found life tougher in better company last time but back down to this level expected to get firmly back on track.

The US NAP could only finish third last night but don’t give up on him yet as I don’t think he was suited by the stop-start gallop. Tactics can often prove crucial Stateside but that shouldn’t be an issue for the NAP tonight as we head to Belterra Park. PAO DE QUEIJO is likely to push forward and could show this field a clean pair of heels. She is improving and I’m happy to put a line through that last race as it was a test that probably came too soon in what looked a good race. Back down to this level she has progressive form and should have too many gears for them off the front. Whatarocket bumped into one last time and had Evenscore behind so might emerge as the main danger to the favourite.

Race 9 Saratoga 10.39 Let’s Be Clear (6/4)

Promising filly who ran a big race on debut denied just a head at Churchill Downs; quickly improved to win by a length over the extended 5f here in July; this race has cut up now so good chance to follow up.

With Expand The Map now scratched I’m confident LET’S BE CLEAR is going to take a bit of beating. She isn’t even favourite which I find a bit strange but to me she is the most likely winner. She improved to score by a length last time and with more to come she can get the better of Miss Interpret. The latter is also on the upgrade judging by that head win last time but she is up against an unexposed rival and is going to need more to back that performance up. It definitely looks between the top 2 in the market with Sail By and Runaway Breeze both looking to have a bit to find. The former did win on debut but was no match for Miss Alacrity last time which was a bit disappointing.
