Thirsk 3.05 Hesperis (5/4)
Progressive filly who has won 3 of her last 5 now and ran out an impressive winner at Ffos Last last month; second looks an improver too and she beat her over 4 lengths; hard to oppose with the promise of more to come.
The hat-trick seeking HESPERIS looks the one to beat again at Thirsk on Monday. This Dubawi filly is improving all the time and she thrashed them last time. The second Urban Forest looks to be improving so it was a very convincing performance. Back against her elders here with more in the locker she can win again. Daawy has come down in the weights and shaped better at Carlisle last time. He is down in grade but I still need to see more before I could think about backing him. Golden Dove also needs to show more on recent form to get competitive. I think Golden Hind could be the danger. She was too keen in the first-time cheekpieces and should settle better with them off now.

Brighton 3.50 Hooves Like Jagger (1/1)
Ran out an impressive winner over C&D last week scampering clear in the closing stages; turned out quickly under a 6lb penalty but if in the same form should be hard to stop; not much pace on here so no surprise if he goes forward.
With just the 6 runners heading to post it’s hard to get away from recent C&D winner HOOVES LIKE JAGGER. He forged clear close home to win readily last week and turned out quickly under a 6lb penalty it’s hard to see him being pegged back. There isn’t much pace on so he will go forward and probably look to dictate. Marco Ghiani gets the leg up and that’s no negative taking over from Hollie Doyle. Turn Of Phrase was beaten less than a length at Bath last time and if she reproduces that sort of form here she is the main danger but she does remain a maiden. Voi is on a long losing run so it’s hard to see her taking the prize. Miss Tiki is unexposed and the cheekpieces could see her improve.
