NAP – Best selection of the evening

THE NAP (BEST BET) LANDED AGAIN YESTERDAY AND RUNS AT NEWMARKET TODAY!

Newmarket 2.45 Trident (6/4)

Promising colt who made a winning start at Longchamp in June and has been highly tried since chasing home Perfect Power in Group 1 company last time; that last bit of form is notably strong; more to come up to 7f now.

There is definitely strength in depth to this Group 3 but I can’t get away from TRIDENT for Andre Fabre. This colt by Wootton Bassett has looked hugely promising in three starts to date and went close at the top level last time. There should be more to come up to 7f now and if he does improve again the rest are playing catch-up in here. Harrow impressed me winning again at Doncaster last time and while that was a likeable effort this is tougher again so he’ll need to keep improving to have a say. Modern Games is probably a more obvious threat given he looked to progress again beating another nice enough prospect in Sed Maarib at Doncaster. He will need to step forward another chunk to beat this fav.

NAP

Newmarket 2.45 Trident (6/4)

Wolverhampton 8.30 Diamond Bay (13/8)

Likeable type who came good in the summer showing a good attitude to get up at Windsor; given time since and returned with a career best at Kempton last time on first crack over this trip; more to come so hard to oppose.

The hat-trick seeking DIAMOND BAY looks worth following at Wolverhampton on Thursday night. This son of New Bay has really got the hang of things lately and ran out an impressive winner at Kempton on return from a short absence. He is looking much more the finished article and remains thoroughly unexposed over this trip. It should be a good race between him and the tough Just Jacob but I expect him to come out on top as he has greater potential. The latter won well at Newbury and certainly wasn’t disgraced in third at Epsom last time where he was given too much to do. Out Of Reason has first-time cheekpieces and should run an honest race but might find the top two too hot to handle.
