Progressive sort who clocked a career best staying on strongly to win readily over shorter here at the start of the month; bumped into one up to this trip at Haydock last time; unexposed and definitely more to come yet.
With Albaflora a non runner at Newmarket this afternoon we have a replacement NAP running at York in the shape of EMARATY HERO for Grant Tuer. This son of Lope De Vega has been seen to good effect since his stamina has been drawn out and that was a very good effort when a close second to Goobinator last time. He won really stylishly here before that and with the promise to do better over this trip he gets a confident vote to make it 3 wins from his last 4 starts today. Master Milliner was back to winning ways over C&D last time with this galloping track suiting his style. He is the obvious danger but a 5lb rise makes life tougher against an improving sort like the favourite.

Haydock 4.20 Noble Patron (3/1)
Tough sort who improved to finish third at Yarmouth and then quickly built on that to open his account at Windsor, doing it easily; stayed on strongly to follow up at the same venue last month and form looks progressive now.
A 4lb rise is unlikely to stop the improving NOBLE PATRON at Haydock on Friday. This son of Shamardal took a while to get his head in front but has really impressed at Windsor the last twice and with more to come can bring up the hat-trick. He will race prominently but is versatile so if Sibaaq and Rains Of Castamere push hard he will just track them through before hopefully proving the stronger close home. The way he stayed on last time I can’t see anything living with him in the final 50 yards or so. Piece Of History didn’t shape badly when third at Ascot on return and that was off a fairly long lay-off so if he strips fitter he could emerge as the danger. Delgrey Boy also shouldn’t be entirely written off.
Daily Double
