Newton Abbot 1.30 Bravemansgame (10/11)
Likeable type who reached a really high level over hurdles last season chasing home Bob Olinger and Gaillard Du Mesnil in the Ballymore and then bumping into Ahoy Señor at Aintree; sure to do even better over fences.
This is an Intermediate Chase to get the blood pumping and I can’t wait to see BRAVEMANSGAME for Paul Nicholls. He has always been touted as a chaser and anything he achieved over hurdles was to be seen as a bonus. I know he somewhat let supporters down in the Ballymore but he ran with huge credit and let’s be honest Bob Olinger looks a bit of a monster. He was given a lot to do at Aintree but in hindsight that was a very big performance from Ahoy Senor who could be a decent horse himself. Now tackling the larger obstacles I think we’re likely to see the best of him and while this is no easy start it will give Nicholls a good handle on how good he could potentially be.

Limerick 2.10 Mrs Milner (11/10)
Promising mare who put it altogether to win the Pertemps at Cheltenham when last seen; profile is progressive and this looks a good starting point for her before going on to better things; can keep improving so hard to oppose.
Given MRS MILNER won on return last year following a 5 month absence when showing a good attitude to win at the Galway Festival I have no worries about her returning here 6 months off the track. She is a mare firmly on the upgrade judging by that Pertemps victory and with more to come this season she can win this comfortably. The Getaway Star has won 2 of her last 3 and is improving and looks the obvious threat to the favourite. Stablemate to the latter Merry Doyenne also has to be respected as she comes here chasing a hat-trick after impressing at Killarney and Wexford when last seen in May. This is tougher but it’s just her fifth start so she should also have more to offer in time.
Daily Double
The Daily Double consists of both the NAP and NB and is a great way of covering our two best bets of the day to maximise profit. They run at Newton Abbot and Limerick on Sunday afternoon.
