Wolverhampton 5.00

Mustang Kodi has been the one for money this morning but he doesn’t exactly jump off the page. This is quite a hard race to dissect but I’ve sided with SANDS FURY in the end. This Footstepsinthesand colt has only actually had 5 starts and he ran his best race to date when denied less than a length over C&D when last seen in August. He is only up 2lb from that and in the first-time cheekpieces I think he can improve again. If he does he will go close in a winnable race.

Holy Bee looks the danger to me. She has also only had the 5 starts and ran a cracker when beaten just a length at Yarmouth last time. She should relish this step up in trip and with more to come she looks most likely to give the selection a race. At bigger prices Stay Home still has potential and might run well.

Wolverhampton 5.00

Sands Fury 3/1

Wolverhampton 5.30

Not the strongest race with plenty of out of form sorts in here which provides COME ON LINDA with an ideal opportunity to get a well deserved win. She has been in great form without winning and the step back to 7 furlongs last time saw her best run yet losing by a short head at Chelmsford a week ago. The winner Crocodile Power is a decent yardstick so that form looks solid. She runs off the same mark and has to be the one to beat and at a fairly decent price.

Outtake has been in great form over course and distance and will be on the premises again if in the same form. He will be the main danger to the selection in a weak race but the market is suggesting Visions Of Glory is going to take a step forward so he also has to be noted. Manumission has had a great season and is also worth a second look.

Wolverhampton 5.30

Come On Linda 4/1 each way

Wolverhampton 6.00

This looks a good opportunity for LIANGEL HOPE to open his account. This son of The Last Lion has run two very good races so far beaten just a head on debut and then backing that up going down by the same margin at Chelmsford last time up to 7f. With usual improvement back down to 6f he is going to take a lot of beating and it’s no surprise to see him figure prominently in the betting. If you look at that last run he pulled 6 lengths clear with the winner so that was a very good effort. A repeat means he will be hard to beat.

Hot Streak filly Hot Spell has shown ability in three starts to date but the yard have gone off the boil somewhat and she is definitely going to need to improve to land a blow here. Resilience was a good third to Thunder Queen over C&D and looks a bigger danger to me with more to come. Hard to fancy anything at the bigger prices in a race lacking strength in depth.

Wolverhampton 6.00

Liangel Hope 6/4

Wolverhampton 6.30

This novice event is pretty poor considering it is rated a Class 4 and as a result PURE CHARMER who is a 10-race maiden gets the vote. It is rare for a horse that has had so many chances to get her head in front gets made the selection but her consistency is better than anything else we have seen. She has placed on 6 of those 10 runs and has the majority of top time figures. The setup of the race lets her run off a nice weight and she should go very close.

Macon Belle would need to improve on her recent runs to be the danger but it is her first run on the all weather so we could see some improvement. One of her previous runs would see her go well but she needs to string a few good runs together. Dakota Power has been backed into favouritism so he is also worth a second look but he needs to improve.

Wolverhampton 6.30

Pure Charmer 7/2

Wolverhampton 7.00

This is probably the most competitive race of the night but I do like the two I’ve sided with against the field most notably HOOFLEPUFF for Brian Ellison. He is a four-time C&D winner and with recent form figures of 1212 he still looks handicapped to strike off his current mark. He pulled well clear with the winner last time and that was a really good effort as Flying Dragon is unexposed over staying trips so the form is very solid in my book. He will be hitting the line strong and at the odds is definitely worth chancing.

Another horse that has been running to a consistent level is NICKS NOT WONDER for Jamie Osborne. His recent form figures read 224122 and he deserves to get his head in front again. Callum Shepherd is riding full of confidence at the moment and looks a really positive jockey booking. He got caught further back than ideal last time so if better positioned and this pans out more favourably I think he’ll go close at a decent each way price.

Wolverhampton 7.30

I think FOLLOW YOUR HEART is a really good bet here. This progressive 3yo has won at this track before and has been running really well this season. He was back in the winners enclosure at Doncaster in July and I know he wasn’t at his best at either Newmarket or Thirsk but he was right back to form when second at Pontefract earlier this month and looks well handicapped off his current mark of just 73. He has a tongue strap on for the first time and if he improves again he looks sure to go close. Given how lightly raced he is you’d be surprised if he didn’t.

Given the shape of the race I’ve had an each way saver on ROSE HIP too. She is a likeable mare who continues to run well. The handicapper has finally dropped her a couple of pounds and that could see her right in the mix here. She has mixed it with the likes of Raasel, Just That Lord and Operatic in recent starts and that form entitles her to have a big say here and at a juicy price. Thegreatestshowman has a good draw and looks the main danger.

Wolverhampton 8.00

This race is quite close between the front three in the betting but I much prefer the chances of NOTEBOOK for David Simcock. This son of American Pharoah has run two promising races to date and back from a 247-day absence if he is fully tuned up this looks a good chance to make the breakthrough. He should be suited by coming back to a mile and is likely to have improved again. Zoom Tiger is the likely leader and hopefully he gets covered up early before looking to pick them off as I think he’ll be hitting the line strong.

Ciotog had the run of the race when second at 18/1 to Mujtaba at Chester and I think he’ll have his work cutout here to back that up. I actually think Resumption might be a bit overpriced and could be the danger. He is by Nathaniel and is likely to leave that debut run behind. He will be happier up to a mile as well so one to keep an eye on.

Wolverhampton 8.30

Not many of these jump off the page leaving ELTHAM PALACE as a tentative pick. She has sandwiched a below par effort on a surface she hated with two very good runs. If she runs to the level of either of those second-placed finishes she will likely win this. There isn’t much pace on so it will be interesting to see what tactics Hayley Turner adopts as this could easily be a stop-start gallop and she will want to have her well positioned to take advantage.

Aradena will be better at this slightly shorter trip and could be the main danger. Capaldi is another who could go well after a second-placed finish over course and distance earlier in the month. Hunters Step is being rumoured to go well here and he has fallen to a workable mark but I’d want to see some support for him as he has drifted this morning.
