NAP – Best selection of the evening

THE NAP (BEST BET) WON AGAIN YESTERDAY AND IS NOW ON A HAT-TRICK!

Newbury 2.00 Elle Est Belle (10/11)

Likeable mare who made a really promising start bolting up in a bumper at Aintree before dead-heating at Cheltenham in a Listed race; third behind Sir Gerhard and Kilcruit in Champion Bumper; exciting recruit to hurdles now.

The NAP won again yesterday as Brave Kingdom made a winning hurdles debut. Another horse that looked potentially exciting in bumpers last year was ELLE EST BELLE for Dan Skelton. She mixed it with some very talented horses and ran a cracker when third in the Champion Bumper. If she transfers that form over hurdles now she will take a lot of beating here. Connections will be eyeing up some big prizes for her so it will be disappointing if she can’t make a winning start. Ahorsewithnoname was an encouraging second on hurdles debut over C&D last year but failed to back that up next time so has enough to prove on return. Still early days though so should chase the selection home.

NAP

Newbury 2.00 Elle Est Belle (10/11)

Chelmsford 5.55 Howzak (6/5)

Progressive sort who built on an encouraging third on handicap debut to win readily over 5f here last month; improved again to follow up at Lingfield earlier this week and hard to oppose under a double penalty with more to come up in trip.

This looks a great opportunity for HOWZAK to bring up the hat-trick. He has won impressively the last twice and even with a double penalty he is hard to get away from. The way he has been winning this step back up to 6f holds no fears and I don’t see anything running well enough in here to stop him going in again. Irish Times is a 5-time course winner so he certainly needs respecting. He is the one that should give the fav most to think about. Morty was third to the fav last time and has work to do to close that gap. Should run well again but can’t see him reversing that. Bernard Spierpoint wasn’t beaten far at Kempton and might be the value play to hit the frame.
