THE AUSSIE NAP (BEST BET) RUNS IN RACE 6 AT LISMORE ON MONDAY MORNING!

Race 6 Lismore 5.55 Star Magnum (4/5)

Promising type who built on an encouraging return at Grafton to win comfortably over C&D last month, always dictating; fitter again and gets 3kg weight relief with the claim so everything points towards another big run.

It’s hard to look past STAR MAGNUM here and I expect him to go off a short price come post time. He is improving with experience with 2 wins from 6 starts now and impressed last time always dominating. He will push forward again and should take plenty of catching. Whitebait Pattie is respected on exposed form but he will need to better than recent fifth to have a say here. Don’t Cry Mama is a capable type with 2 wins at this track so he might be a bigger danger. Marokawa was a close-up third last time and also has to enter calculations. The rest all look to have something to prove but September Girl has placed 12 times from 24 starts (including 4 wins) and might be value to hit the frame.

THE AUSSIE NB (SECOND BEST BET) RUNS IN RACE 4 AT QUEANBEYAN OVERNIGHT!

Race 4 Queanbeyan 4.40 Murkowski (6/4)

Improving filly who ran a cracker on debut at a big price and quickly stepped forward to open her account impressively over shorter here last month; showed a good attitude on that occasion and hard to beat again here.

This looks all about the likeable MURKOWSKI for Joe Cleary and Jake Pracey-Holmes. This grey filly made a good start beaten just a length and then improved to win gamely last time, nicely on top at the finish. She has more to offer stepping up in trip and should be up to justifying favouritism here. Face The Day has just the 1 win from 13 starts and is opposable in my book. He finds himself second fav here which probably shows the lack of quality in this line-up. Accrue won well here last time but he will find this tougher especially against a progressive filly in the favourite. Final Showdown is consistent enough but is vulnerable for win purposes. Mr Cantankerous best of the rest.
