NAP – Best selection of the evening

THE US NAP (BEST BET) RUNS IN RACE 7 AT GULFSTREAM ON THURSDAY NIGHT!

Race 7 Gulfstream Park 8.23 Muted (4/5)

Improving filly who created a big impression bolting up on debut over track and trip back in September; grabbed late by a progressive colt last time and capable of better again with added experience so leading claims in this field.

This looks a good chance for MUTED to make it 2 wins from her first 3 starts. She did it so easily on debut that has probably cost her last time as she didn’t really learn much on debut given how easy it came to her. She was only grabbed late last time by Lightening Larry and that horse has franked the form going close since. He is a useful colt so that form is very solid. She is going to improve here and I think she’ll prove a cut above these. Lara’s Lady won impressively last time but that was in an easier race and she will find this tougher especially up against a filly with as much potential as the favourite. Divine Connection also won on debut but faded quite badly late on last time.

Race 6 Delta Downs 9.15 Birdie Be Gone (5/4)

Likeable filly who won her two starts in convincing fashion and just got racing too early when only third last time; drops back in trip here and more to come so big chance of getting back to winning ways and making it 3 from 4.

Beaten less than 3 lengths last time BIRDIE BE GONE certainly wasn’t disgraced and given she had won her first two starts she looks to be progressing nicely. This is a bit easier and she should appreciate dropping back in trip. She almost certainly has more to come after just 3 starts and should get back to winning ways here. Sarahs Home is more exposed but was back to her best last time and she can be quite a tough filly to pass when on her game – looks the main danger to the fav. Doha was impressive on penultimate start winning by a wide margin but failed to back that up last time and this is arguably tougher. Sophie’s Prayer best of the rest but she’ll also need to step up to land a blow here.
