Ayr 12.30

An interesting Novice Hurdle to kick off the day at Ayr with plenty of unknowns as quite a few in here haven’t gone over hurdles yet. LEBOWSKI is the one to beat though as he won on hurdles debut with relative ease. He went clear of the field at Ffos Las eventually winning by 6 lengths. He looks capable of a lot more and has a great chance even under a penalty.

Tiger Jet ran well on hurdling debut and if stepping forward for the run he is the main danger. Of the rest Sauce Of Life was handed his first defeat in a good race at Wetherby and won’t be far away with that experience likely to have done him good.

Ayr 12.30

Lebowski 4/6

Ayr 1.05

A fiercely competitive handicap chase now and a chance is taken on the Lucinda Russell-trained DESTINY IS ALL making a winning return. We haven’t seen him for 501 days now but he ran two encouraging races over fences at Musselburgh and Uttoxeter and with more to come could definitely play a hand here off a mark of just 91. The yard are just starting to get going and if his jumping holds up I’ll be surprised if he isn’t involved.

Ardera Cross was punted off the boards last time but did too much early on and paid the price late. Goes back up in trip and if he can save something for the finish this time he might not be far away. I see Eagle De Guye as a greater danger though as like the selection he brings plenty of potential to the table.

Ayr 1.40

This looks pretty open with plenty of potential improvers but the selection also could step forward a lot. CORRIGEEN ROCK won his PTP and on hurdles debut last month. He did it well from the front and he was always doing enough on his seasonal debut. Like many of his rivals he could improve for that first run of the season and even with the 6lb penalty he looks the one to beat on what he has shown.

Famous Bridge is the main danger after stepping forward from his national hunt flat run back in March and seems to have plenty of potential. Monte Igueldo is one that shouldn’t be ignored with his run in France looking pretty smart so you might be able to put a line through is Wetherby disappointment if he just needed the run.

Ayr 2.10

It’s been slow and steady with VALUE TIP so far but I think that approach can start paying dividends now. He made his debut over hurdles way back in 2019 finishing an encouraging fourth at Carlisle. He looked to be struggling 3 out but found plenty off the bridle and stayed on well at the finish. He looked a frame of a horse so was very much a work in progress. We then didn’t see him until earlier this year when he returned following a wind op to finish fifth to Champagnesuperover over C&D. He was just too keen on that occasion and paid for it in the closing stages.

Given time to strengthen up again since and following another wind op he ran his best race to date when a close second at Carlisle last month. He is bound to improve from that and this looks a good opportunity for him to finally make the breakthrough. I’ll be surprised if this son of Jeremy isn’t better than a mark of just 112.

Ayr 2.45

Just the 5 runners line up for this handicap chase but it does still look ultra competitive with all 5 priced up between 2/1 and 11/2 at the time of writing. BUZZ DE TURCOING is the pick after a very good run at Wetherby behind Ashtown Lad. That was a really impressive run on his seasonal reappearance and I think he has plenty of juice in his handicap mark.

If Sunset West is ready to roll on his first appearance of the season he will be the main danger as I think 3 miles over fences will bring out plenty of improvement. Le Cheval Noir is the fav at the time of writing and although I think he will be competitive I think the other two have greater potential.

Ayr 3.20

I always find bumpers quite tricky so it’s not an overly strong play but GOLDEN DE COEUR should go well for Colin Bowe. He stepped forward on stable debut to finish third at Galway and with experience on side and the promise of more to come he can show his hand in this weak enough race. He likes to go forward so may end up taking a bit of catching under 7lb claimer Peter Kavanagh.

River Meadow is the most interesting debutant who is well related. Nicky Richards does well in these races so he could easily emerge as the danger if above average. Bold Soldier ran well in an Irish point and might also play a hand if ready to roll.
