Race 1 Mornington 2.30 Missy Longport (6/5)

Promising filly who made a bright start beaten just a length into second on debut at Kyneton last month; sure to improve off the back of that initial effort and looks to have found a good opportunity to go one better.

This looks a straight shootout between the front pair in the market and I’m keen to side with MISSY LONGPORT following her debut run. She really impressed me going down just a length and with usual improvement she will go one better. Foxy Gal also ran with promise on debut but she was sent off a big price and I think she might just be bumping into one in the shape of the selection. I do expect the pair to dominate as they both look to have decent potential going forward. Two To Tango has shown encouragement without landing a blow after 2 starts and can do better but this looks tough and she probably needs more time and experience to be seen to best effect.

Race 2 Orange 3.25 Cinque Torri (7/4)

Improving with experience and stepped forward from that runner-up effort here to win at Nowra last time, showing a good attitude to get up from off the pace; more to come for sure and good chance to follow up.

We head to Orange overnight for our second best bet Down Under and CINQUE TORRI can make it back-to-back wins. He swooped late last time and with this step back up in trip sure to suit off the back of that run he can win again. Silver Scissors is a nice enough mare and she won convincingly at Dubbo last time. If she can build on that she will be the danger to the selection. Don’t Question Me has just the 1 win from 15 starts but does have 5 placed efforts to her name so she also has to be respected on exposed form. Hard To Excel made the breakthrough at Tuncurry but will need more in this company as it does look tougher. Cheeky Nugget is also capable of better but again this has strength in depth.
