Leopardstown 1.10

This is ridiculously competitive as you would imagine in a 28 runner race. A GREAT VIEW is a small interest for us after running really well at Navan last time to finish second. He ran in this last year off an 8lb higher mark and if running to the level of his last run he will be right in the mix. I thought he’d be a decent price but 14/1 was pleasantly surprising so definitely looks worth covering each way as I think he can get competitive.

Ardhill is the favourite at the time of writing and would be a big danger off 9-12 if getting in at the bottom of the weights (currently needs 1 to drop out). Gentlemansgame brings some of the best form into the race but it will tough off top weight. Of the rest Pour Pavore could be dangerous if getting the trip as he looks to have a fair bit to come and is chasing a hat-trick of wins.

Catterick 1.25

I’m not sure sending REPRESENTING BOB back over hurdles at Chepstow was the best idea and given he was beaten I think connections will be regretting that somewhat now. He had won both his starts over fences prior to that and can resume his progress here. He is up 9lb but has further improvement in the locker yet and this looks a good opportunity on paper for him to get back on track. He looks all about stamina to me so he should relish going up in trip and 3/1 looks generous enough.

The danger is probably No Cruise Yet who gained compensation for falling at Doncaster when winning at Sedgefield last time and a 6lb rise looks fair. He also has more to come and should put up the most resistance. Scottish Accent remains on a workable mark and is also expected to get involved.

Leopardstown 1.45

A cracking renewal we have here and I really fancy FLOORING PORTER to retain his crown. He pulled clear in similar conditions last season before winning the Stayers’ Hurdle at Cheltenham. He was running a cracking race on his seasonal debut and probably would have won before falling 2 out at Navan. He should be fitter for that and is the one to beat with Danny Mullins in the saddle again.

Klassical Dream is the favourite and the likely danger after he really showed his true self at Punchestown to cap off last season. He does have to prove his fitness here and is hard to catch right so I prefer the selection. Sire Du Berlais seems to be held by the selection and Abacadabras is interesting at this trip but at the same time still has to prove himself over it.

Catterick 2.00

This is probably the toughest race of the day so a tentative vote goes to HUNGRY TIGER with a 7lb claimer booked. He has knocked on the door the last twice chasing home the progressive Cilluirid at Sedgefield and then bettering that when runner-up again at Kelso last time. That form has been franked since with the third Fever Roque bolting up by 14 lengths next time out so the selection can run a big race up just 4lb from that. He will likely be ridden quietly so will need some luck coming through.

Findthetime is fav at the time of writing and is unexposed following that Sedgefield win. He almost certainly has more to come so has to be feared but has been well found in the market now. Kensington Art remains in good form and will appreciate going back up in trip here so definitely has a squeak as well.

Leopardstown 2.20

This looks like A PLUS TARD’s race to lose on ratings. He is rated 9lb better than anything in here and his Betfair Chase win showed he is in great heart at the start of this season. That performance was incredible for a seasonal debut and he has a fantastic chance of winning this race for the second year running. He is trading as favourite for the Cheltenham Gold Cup, and by some way, and can cement them claims by winning this convincingly this afternoon.

Galvin’s form in the Ladbrokes Champion Chase in October would see him best of the rest but he does have to step forward from that run to ruffle the feathers of A Plus Tard. Delta Work hasn’t looked himself for a while now and even though he may have needed the run at Down Royal he is probably running for a place at best if the selection is anywhere near his best.

Leopardstown 2.55

A good renewal of this race with Mullins seeking a treble following Easy Game and The Big Getaway winning it for the last two years. The yard have really turned a corner lately so GALOPIN DES CHAMPS should be ready to fire on return! He was last seen in April winning a Grade 1 at Punchestown easily. He needs a trip to get the best out of him and this looks a good starting point for the season tackling fences for the first time. If near his best he is the one to beat on seasonal debut.

Fury Road has some great Grade 1 form over fences already and will make his experience count. My issue with him is that he always finds 1 or 2 that are better and the selection fits the bill here. Stablemate Blue Sari shaped well at Navan so has to be considered but definitely needs to improve to seriously trouble the favourite.

Leopardstown 3.30

Not a lot to go on here but what we do know is Willie Mullins won it last year with Ramillies and he has another great chance with £40,000 purchase REDEMPTION DAY. He is a full brother to Big Bresil and his dam was a sister to Champion Bumper winner Cheltenian. He is certainly bred to know his job and the market is suggesting he is going to take all the beating in what looks a good starting point.

The likely danger is probably Music Drive who cost £90,000 and he showed ability winning a point so could be more forward than most in here. Bravo Team was fourth in a bumper at Fairyhouse so has experience on side but might lack the potential of the two mentioned above. The rest might all need more time and experience to be seen to best effect.
