THE AUSSIE NAP (BEST BET) RUNS IN RACE 5 AT FLEMINGTON ON SATURDAY!

Race 5 Flemington 1.35 Bermadez (1/1)

Smart type who looks on an upward curve with 4 wins from 8 starts; landed back-to-back wins at Sale and over C&D on return before going down narrowly to another exciting prospect last time; form stacks up; should win this.

I think the odds will continue to plummet on BERMADEZ as he looks a standout at Flemington on Saturday. He went down less than a length to Lighthouse last time and that horse is very progressive. She actually runs later on the card and has been flagged up as our Notebook runner so this could definitely frank the form by winning here. The danger looks to be the more exposed High ‘N’ Dry who also arrives in winning form after impressing over C&D last time. I do think the selection can improve past him though but he is definitely still respected. Somerset Maugham has 5 wins from 19 starts and looks comfortably best of the rest following an encouraging fourth over C&D last time.

Race 7 Doomben 5.48 Shihonka (11/10)

Promising filly who has won 3 of her 6 starts to date and comes here chasing a hat-trick after showing a great attitude to prevail at Rosehill last time up to this trip for the first time; unexposed and could be lots more to come yet.

It’s hard to look past the improving and likeable SHIHONKA here. She showed a good attitude to prevail again last time and has won 3 of her last 4 starts now. She gets the inside alley here and ticks plenty of boxes again as she bids to justify favouritism. Starman looked promising winning at Rosehill on penultimate start but did disappoint in fourth at Randwick last time. If he can bounce back he looks the one to give the fav most to think about. Release The Beans has won 4 of his 6 starts and finished third the twice he was beaten so brings top form to the table and is unlikely to be far away either in a good race. Tiger Heart best of the rest along with Dovetail Diva but both need to find more.
