THE AUSSIE NAP (BEST BET) RUNS IN RACE 4 AT DUBBO ON MONDAY MORNING!
Race 4 Dubbo 4.15 Smooth Esprit (5/4)
Came in for good support at Gunnedah last time and made no mistake winning convincingly; improving all the time now and looks to have found another good opportunity to go and follow up.
Hard to look past SMOOTH ESPRIT at Dubbo overnight. He won as expected at Gunnedah and with further improvement to come he can take this out. He will strip even fitter and is comfortably the most likely winner. He is 1-1 over this trip and has placed twice here for 4 runs so lots to like. Wunambal has a similar profile to the selection but his recent form hasn’t been inspiring. This is easier so if he bounces back he is probably the one to chase the fav home. Gold Lunar is more exposed so will need to produce her best form to figure. She was only midfield at Orange last month and that form isn’t good enough to strike here. How’s It Kev best of the rest but still needs more to land a blow here.

THE AUSSIE NB (SECOND BEST BET) WON OVERNIGHT AND RUNS AT NEWCASTLE!
Race 7 Newcastle 6.30 Cool Lad (13/8)
Progressive colt who improved to win at Nowra and backed that up in good style at Wagga last time; getting better with experience and everything points to him bringing up the hat-trick here; keep firmly on side.
I’m surprised COOL LAD isn’t shorter than 13/8 as he is comfortably the most likely winner of this for me. He has won impressively the last twice and is capable of better again so should be odds-on in my book. It will be interesting to see what price he is come post time. Peregrination is a decent yardstick with 2 wins from 9 starts but went badly off form when last at Gosford last time. If he can put that behind him he could give the selection something to think about but has enough to prove on the balance. Divine Future is a nice mare and she won at Canberra before finishing second last time so on recent form should finish second. A Fortunate Lass is capable of a big run but definitely place claims at best.
