Race 7 Moonee Valley 10.15 Mars Mission (1/1)

Promising colt who caught the eye finishing third on debut at Sandown back in the summer; given time since and improved to win on return at Warwick last month; more to come now and should make it 2 from 3 here.

No surprise to see MARS MISSION trading at a short price for this. He won convincingly on return and with scope for further improvement should take this out and make it 2 wins from 3 starts. He brings the most potential to the table here and should be up to justifying favouritism. He’s The Ultimate has won 2 from 7 and is 2 from 4 over the trip. Scored at Pakenham last time and has to be feared on that especially if he improves again. Magnum Bullet also brings winning form to the table after recording his third career win from 15 starts at Kilmore last night. If he is turned out quickly then he also has to enter calculations but he may well be scratched. The rest all need to go some to figure here.

Race 7 Rockhampton 7.49 In Order (11/10)

Promising mare who arrives chasing a hat-trick after impressing again over track and trip last month; inside draw here and has more to come so can make it 3 in a row; form stacks up and should take all the beating in this field.

Another step up in grade but IN ORDER looks to be improving fast. She took a while to get her head in front but really improved again to win over C&D last time. With more to come she can bring up the hat-trick. The danger is Just Jessie but then she did run a bit flat when only sixth at Cairns last time so will need to leave that behind. Kotabharu has finished runner-up the last 3 times so continues to knock on the door but will need more to break through again. Dr Neigh is 3 wins from 13 and has won at this track but needs more after finishing last here latest. Lastofthe Mohicans is 2 from 3 over this trip so might be one at a bigger price to hit the frame. Hard to recommend anything else in here.
