Won over C&D this time last year off a 1lb lower mark; knocked hard on the door the last twice going down just a neck again over track and trip last month, only headed late; sure to go well again and looks hard to beat.

I know Chipiron has won 2 of his last 3 but he is a undoubtedly a quirky sort and I think he might be opposable up 2lb. NATE THE GREAT has gone very close the last twice and looks the one to be on. There is a good chance 3lb claimer William Carver pushes forward on him and if he gets the fractions right they may not live with him. He won over C&D this time last year off a 1lb lower mark so is certainly handicapped to have a big say. Zeeband shaped as though he’d improve for the run when down the field at Kempton on return and should fare better here but needs more against the top 2. Military Two Step is better on turf and is likely to need this on return from 6 months off the track.

Likeable sort who has won 3 of his last 4 now and improved from his chase debut to win readily at Newcastle last month; did that in the manner of a promising horse and almost certainly has more to come; should follow up.

A 3lb rise for that Newcastle win looks really lenient to me so OMAR MARETTI should be up to making it 2 wins from 3 over fences and 4 from his last 5 overall. He is a progressive horse who definitely has more in the locker if needed. Almazhar Garde will likely go hard off the front and has to be respected but I think the handicapper has him for the moment. Marown might be the danger as he has been given time since disappointing at Ayr and has had a wind op since. Winds Of Fire was progressive over hurdles but blew out at Ascot last month. He has been eased 2lb since then and should do better here but still has enough to find to get on terms with the selection who is a confident pick.
