Kempton 6.30 Blue Flame (7/4)

Lightly raced sort who looked the part in the paddock and improved to win gamely at Newcastle when last seen in December; open to further improvement now and looks the one they all have to beat; keep firmly on side.

This can be narrowed down to the front 3 in the betting and BLUE FLAME is a confident selection. He really impressed getting his head in front at Newcastle last month and now he knows how to win I think he can kick on. He definitely had more in the locker the last day if needed and I think he would have improved again. He should get a good pace to run down and I’m keen to keep him on side. Dewey Road is one of the pace angles but may face competition from Sayifyouwill and that could soften him up. The danger then may well be Latent Heart who isn’t entirely straightforward but did get his head in front at Lingfield and would have to be a threat again if in similar form tonight.

Doncaster 4.00 Gredin (5/2)

Looked a nice prospect winning on debut under Rules at Carlisle back in October; beaten twice since but unlucky last time making a bad error at the last and missing narrowly; unexposed and can do better now handicapping.

I really like the chances of GREDIN at Doncaster on Wednesday. He should relish these softer conditions and while an opening mark of 120 is no given I do think he can take the beating. He would have won at Catterick last time bar a mistake at the last and he is progressing nicely with experience. If he improves again he can serve it up to the favourite under Brian Hughes. Half Track did win nicely at Ayr showing a good attitude under pressure and I do see him as the danger with this longer trip likely to help rather than hinder. Boss Man Fred should fare better here and isn’t entirely ruled out either. Mr Washington needs to bounce back but is another who could run better than his odds.
