Cheltenham Festival Each Way Double

ADD 80/1 CHELTENHAM FESTIVAL EACH WAY DOUBLE DIRECT TO BET365 BET SLIP

I’ve also decided to put forward our best two each way bets for next week. These are two horses at decent odds we fancy to go close.

They run in the Grand Annual on Wednesday and in the Albert Bartlett on Friday and both look good prices to me – can only see them getting shorter as post time gets closer.

BACK OUR BEST BETS WITH BET365 AT CHELTENHAM

Bet365 have now gone Non-runner No bet at the Cheltenham Festival plus they are offering Best Odds Guaranteed (BOG) on any bets placed from now until the Festival. This is great for taking a good price before the week and if the starting price is bigger they will give you the bigger price!

First each way selection in the double

Cheltenham 4.50 Embittered (8/1)

Tough sort who fell in this last year but previous handicap form at the Festival notably strong finishing third to Saint Roi in the County a couple of years ago; given a spin to get fit last month; likely primed for this.

The money really came for EMBITTERED in this last year and he ended up going off favourite at 9/2. He was still travelling well within himself when coming down at the ninth and with the trends pointing to those horses that have run in the race before I thought he looked obvious value at 8/1 at the time of writing. Course form is obviously huge and Festival form even better which he has from finishing third in the County a couple of years back. The trends are certainly in his favour and I have no doubt Joseph O’Brien has targeted him at this race again. He has been given plenty more experience over fences this season and I like the angle of running in graded races recently to help keep his mark down. 18 of the last 20 have been rated higher than 147 so on that alone it rules out a fair few and of those some are figuring prominently in the betting. I’m still looking at dangers and will back a couple in the race (at least) given the nature of the race. If the rain stays away that would definitely bring Thyme White into the reckoning.

Grand Annual Handicap Chase (Grade 3)

Cheltenham Wednesday 4.50 Embittered (8/1)

Second each way selection in the double

Cheltenham 2.50 Shantreusse (9/1)

Promising sort who certainly looked the part hacking up at Cork back in January and backed that up winning with plenty in hand in a Grade 3 at Clonmel last month; unexposed and looks great value in here.

Hillcrest has obviously looked hugely promising and bar an unseat here back in January he’d likely be coming here having won 5 in a row over hurdles. He is still quite a raw individual though and I worry this sort of test is just coming a bit too soon in his career. I can see him going well but at the odds I’m going to oppose. Ginto is actually favourite at the time of writing and he is another horse I really like going forward given how strongly he has been seeing out his races. Again his price is short though and in a race like this I want to side with something at a bit of value. SHANTREUSSE won a good race at Clonmel last time and that can be a good pointer for this. He jumped the last with plenty left and I think he has more to come as his stamina is drawn out. There could be lots more to come yet and at 9/1 he looks a great each way price as I’m certain he’ll be running on strongly. At a massive price Ballygrifincottage might have a squeak too after chasing home Blazing Khal and Gelino Bello and then winning at Lingfield when last seen back in January.

Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle (Grade 1)

Cheltenham Friday 2.50 Shantreusse (9/1)

Cheltenham Festival Each Way Double

There is plenty of value about next week so we have combined two of our strongest each way plays to make a MONSTER each way double.
